Teachers' Reading Circle

Teachers' Time out to Read, Reflect and Re-imagine their World

The Readers’ Obligations

We have an obligation to read for pleasure, in private and public spaces.
We have an obligation to support libraries.
We have an obligation to read aloud to our children.
We have an obligation to use the language. To push ourselves: to find out what words mean and how to deploy them.
We all - adults and children, writers and readers - have an obligation to daydream.
- Neil Gaiman, The View from Cheap Seats (2016)

Why is TI creating a Reading Movement?

At TI, we wish to resurrect the joys of reading, reflecting and rethinking our lives. We would love to get people together and discover fascinating worlds once again... seek peace and harmony through pages of a book.

We firmly believe that reading not only is pleasurable, but is also the single most activity that develops our mind and spirit, at no extra cost. As adults, let’s pick up a book. And let our young follow suit.

Join the movement... Create a stir... Let us read...
